István Kovács began his professional career at the General Building Design Company (ÁÉTI) in 1978. After the change of regime and the closure of large state-owned design companies, he founded Kovács & Kovács Studio Ltd. in 1993.

 

Szabolcs Jelfi graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (specialization in building and civil engineering) of the Budapest University of Technology in 2003. After that, he started working in design offices and as a sole proprietor, designing supporting structures, and later as a supporting structure expert.

Since 2019, the company has been jointly managed by István Kovács and Szabolcs Jelfi.

The scope of activity of Kovács & Kovács Stúdió Kft. is structural design and expertise. The types of designed facilities range widely. The main profile is the design of residential buildings, from family and semi-detached houses to condominiums and residential parks. In addition, the company's profile also includes the structural design of hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, educational institutions, sports facilities, parking buildings, floor extensions, and prefabricated reinforced concrete, steel and wooden industrial halls.
